BIOGRAPHY FOR WENDY MORRISON

Originally from Wilmslow in Cheshire, Wendy moved to Devon in 2002. She started her acupuncture training in 2003 at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading where she gained a BSc(Hons) degree in Acupuncture. The degree was awarded from Kingston University of which CICM is accredited.

Wendy decided she wanted to change her life towards a more meaningful one, therefore moved from a busy career as an IT Business Development Manager, selling computer systems to the Police Authorities and the NHS, to offering her time as a Volunteer Manager at Gaia House Buddhist Retreat Centre, Devon in 2002.

"Spending calm reflective time and working as the Reception Manager at Gaia House, supporting others in their meditation practice, was one of the most important and enjoyable decisions of my life. This opportunity gave me the time and space to re-evaluate my life and decide what I really wanted to do. Six months into my year of service my decision to study acupuncture was made, because I had been receiving it myself for poor sleep and low energy and it had worked wonders! This was the next most important decision of my life!

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine offered me a vocation in life, not just a job; it is a rich, diverse and mutually beneficial (for the patient and myself) method of medicine which is a continual inspiration for me. I've never looked back!" Wendy

Wendy's interests are Zen Meditation, Hill Walking and Ceroc (a kind of modern jive) and Argentine Tango dancing. She also has a special interest in Chinese Medicine Food Energetics and Classical Chinese Medicine.
